Hi all,
I had that much information to get out last week, that inevitably several items got missed! In addition since last week’s full update there’s been other matters which I have been asked to draw to your attention.
Thanks to all for the copious feedback over the past 7 days, especially about the Farmers Market, which Nick Palmer & I are really excited about. It should in turn prove to be a huge boost for helping to regenerate Kimberley. Put Saturday 7th November in your diary!
The additional items to bring to your attention are duly shown below.
Do continue to keep in touch, with your comments, suggestions etc.

Best regards,
Richard

Cossall and Kimberley News Update and Information Service October 2009 (mini update)

1) Proposed Taxi Rank in Kimberley
I’m getting increasing amount of correspondence from residents concerned about Broxtowe Borough’s Council proposals to site a taxi rank on Station Road. In particular after all of the work that has been put into improving the situation there for residents, who were previously plagued by lots of anti social behaviour, there is a fear that all of the hard work will be undone.

I have sent all of the comments I have received to the council so the Licensing Committe can take these into account, when it sits to make the final decision.

If anyone wants to make any representations against the current proposals, or find out any more information contact at Broxtowe BC, Jeremy Ward – jeremy.ward@broxtowe.gov.uk.

2) Tram phase III route to Kimberley
You may recall that in July KENTAG (Kimberley, Eastwood and Nuthall Tram Action Group) was formed. The purpose of this group is to lobby and campaign for an extension of the existing tram route from Phoenix Park, out to Kimberley and Eastwood.

The next meeting of KENTAG is set to take place on Thursday 19th November, 7:30pm at the Kimberley Cricket Club on Newdigate Street (last week I informed you incorrectly that the meeting would be at the Nelson & Railway). More information on the meeting and the work that is being done in the meantime is available from KENTAG Chair Andy Cooper usercp6695@aol.com or Steve Barber barbers@parliament.uk.

6) Broxtowe Action Fund
Broxtowe Borough Action Fund gives grants of up to £2000 to voluntary and community groups providing services in the Borough. Since the fund started in 2000 it has given nearly £165,000 to 188 groups. In the last 9 years a very diverse range of projects have been supported including a ladybird farm on a community allotment, yoga classes for disabled people and a skateboarding park in Stapleford. Many of the projects support the most vulnerable people in communities and have a lasting affect on people’s quality of life.

This year’s fund is being supported by Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottinghamshire County NHS, Nottinghamshire County Council and the Co-operative Group. The next deadline for receiving applications is 26th February 2010. Contact Richard Lea on 0115 917 3395 or richard.lea@broxtowe.gov.uk.
