Hi all,
I’ve had lots of enquiries since Saturday about the closure of the Halifax counter banking facilities in Kimberley from January of next year.
No doubt many of you will already be aware of this decision, with customers receiving their letters last weekend. This was the first I new about it, and was called by the Halifax on Monday to confirm this. It was a shock to all concerned.
I’ve already discussed the situation with Nick this week and we have asked for an urgent meeting with representatives of the business. In addition we have also made new enquiries today about new opportunities for a bank to re-locate to Kimberley, following up from our original conversations earlier this year, that many of you will recall.
As soon as any more information is available we will let you know.

1) Saturday 31st October – Friends of Colliers Wood – table top sale
Dear Richard, I would be very grateful if you would circulate the advert below to your local email list.

The Friends of Colliers Wood table top sale is to be held on the Saturday 31st October at the Dora Phillips Hall on Wood Street , Eastwood from 10am till 1pm.

The stalls will be selling the following items at bargain prices. Many items suitable for Christmas stocking fillers. Amongst the bargains are:

  • Home baking & preserves
  • Jewellery, dress & hair accessories
  • Bags & cases
  • Alarm clocks, watches, calculators
  • Stationery, software, handmade cards, framed pictures, winter fleeces and even a new 15″ TV.

Please would you see attached info regarding a fund raising event a colleague and I have organised in aid of Marie Curie cancer care.

I have dropped this email to you to request that you circulate to your contacts and indeed your colleagues of the workplace to make them aware of this opportunity to sponsor or donate to a worthy cause. We have 28 golfers taking part on the day and already have sponsorship of well over £500, however with your help and of others would like to achieve our target of £1000. The Marie Curie office in Kimberley have kindly agreed to get the local wrag on the case to make the locals aware of the event, any companies that would like to sponsor a hole for £10 will be mentioned in the editorial.
